HOW TO STOP RECEIVING POP-UP ADS WITH THE TITLE MESSENGER SERVICE

Occasionally advertisements pop up in a window with the title Messenger Service when we are on the internet; this could mean that our computer might not be secure. Please note that even though the name is similar, these messages are not related to Windows Messenger or any other instant messaging programs for that matter and they are sometimes referred to as messenger spam.
You might also want to know that disabling the instant messaging programs is not necessary because it will not prevent Messenger Service Spam from popping up on your computer. To achieve this you should enable Windows Firewall or the one that comes with your anti virus software and in addition disable the Messenger Service feature in Windows XP.
To disable the Messenger service go to Start > Run then type services.msc press enter. Look for Messenger in the Services list and right click on it. Click on Properties in the drop down menu. This will take you to Messenger property. In the Messenger Property, click Disabled in the start-up type list, click, in the Service Status click Stop and then click ok.
There you have, I hope this will help to stop POP-UPs from irritating you the next time you surf the internet. A note of warning for efficiency you should only activate only one firewall at a time. You should either use the inbuilt firewall system that comes with windows or the one from your anti-virus software or from wherever.
